Our verdict
For 1 to 1.5 acres with hills, the Navimow X450 is the best pick: 84% slopes, a 17-inch cut and free network RTK. The Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD 5000 is better for big lawns with trees, the Husqvarna 440 iQ covers 2 acres on gentle ground with a 4-year warranty, and the tracked Lymow One Plus handles the steepest, roughest land.
Big lawns are where a robot mower saves the most time, but also where weak spots show: a short runtime, a narrow cut or a slope just beyond the rating can leave part of the lawn uncut. Every mower here is rated for at least an acre. We ranked them on published specs, reviews and owner reports; see how we research.
What matters on big lawns
- Rated area, with margin. Makers' ratings assume simple shapes. Husqvarna, for example, rates the 440 iQ for 2 acres of simple lawn but 1 acre of irregular lawn.
- Cutting width and runtime. A 15.7- to 17-inch cut and two to three hours per charge get through big areas faster.
- Connectivity across the yard. Large lawns often reach beyond Wi-Fi; built-in 4G (Navimow, Mammotion, Husqvarna) keeps the app connected.
- Slopes. Big properties are rarely flat; check the steepest bank against the rating.
