Ecovacs GOAT A3000 LiDAR PRO

7.3/10 research score LiDAR + Camera vision

List price $2,499.99 (as of Oct 2026)

Best for: Large, fairly flat lawns where clean edges matter

Our verdict

Buy the GOAT A3000 LiDAR PRO if edges are what you hate most: its TruEdge trimmer does most of the edging for you, and dual LiDAR keeps it on track under trees. Skip it for steep or rough lawns, where rear-wheel drive holds it back, and note that Ecovacs doesn't publish lawn size or runtime in the US.

Edges are the job robot mowers have always left for you: the strip along walls, fences and flower beds that the blades can't reach. Ecovacs' answer on the GOAT A3000 LiDAR PRO is to add a string-trimmer head, which it calls TruEdge, to a LiDAR-guided mower. We compared its published specs with what reviewers found. We have not tested it ourselves; see how we research.

Ecovacs' US pages don't list lawn size, runtime, weight or warranty. European retailers list 3,000 m² and up to 160 minutes; Ecovacs' blog mentions a 2-year GOAT warranty. One line on Ecovacs' US page also says "inclines of up to 15°", which contradicts the 50% (27°) quoted elsewhere on the same page; we use 50%.

The trimmer: what it does and doesn't do

Every reviewer we read calls TruEdge the A3000's best feature. Freshly Charged found that after months of use it reduced edging from a full band around the lawn to a few missed spots, and GearDiary agrees it doesn't fully replace a handheld trimmer. Techaeris summed it up as "great until it's not", and 9to5Google found it feeds new line more often than expected.

Two LiDAR sensors and a camera map the yard in about a minute and keep working under trees, with no antenna. The weak point is the drive: it's rear-wheel drive with front casters, rated for 50%, and Techaeris found the casters struggled on rough ground. Reviewers also note the sensors need regular wiping.

Who should buy it

  • Buy it for flat to moderately sloped lawns with lots of edges, beds and paths.
  • Look elsewhere for steep or bumpy ground: the Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD or Navimow X4 climb far steeper. For the same trimmer for less, the GOAT A2000 LiDAR PRO costs $1,999.99.

Frequently asked questions

Does the GOAT A3000 LiDAR PRO replace a string trimmer?

Mostly, not completely. Reviewers say the TruEdge trimmer turns edging into touching up a few missed spots instead of a full perimeter, and one found it feeds new line more often than expected.

How steep a slope can it handle?

Ecovacs rates it for 50% (27°). It is rear-wheel drive, so all-wheel-drive mowers such as the Mammotion LUBA or Navimow X4 climb steeper.

What size lawn is it for?

Ecovacs' US pages don't say. European retailers list it for 3,000 m² (about 0.74 acre), and Ecovacs says it mows up to 400 m² an hour.
